We Love One Another
We pledge to walk together in a spirit of unity and love; to partake of wholesome and edifying speech; and to exercise affectionate concern and spiritual watchcare over one another.
– Mark 12:29-31; John 13:34-35; 1 John 4:11; 1 Peter 1:22
We will extend to each other the grace shown to us in Christ Jesus, remaining slow to take offense and quick to seek reconciliation. We will refrain from divisive speech, attitudes, and behavior, but instead will count others as more significant than ourselves as we sacrificially serve each other as modeled by Christ Himself.
– Philippians 2:3-11; Ephesians 4:32; Romans 12:10, 15:5
We will foster a community where people can safely share their hurts, weaknesses, fears, and failures, that they may find healing in Jesus. We will work to cultivate a culture that looks and feels like a family of Jesus, sharing in one another’s joys and burdens.
– 1 Thessalonians 5:11; Galatians 6:2; 2 Corinthians 13:11; Romans 12:15-16
We Make Disciples
We will seek to maintain homes which are honorable to our Lord and to educate our children in the Word of God. We will earnestly endeavor to raise those under our care in the knowledge and love of the Lord and will seek the salvation of our families and friends. We will seek to advance the gospel both to our neighborhoods and the nations through evangelism and missions.
– Deuteronomy 6:4-7; Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 5:20
We will faithfully attend the meetings of the church and work together to sustain its worship, discipline, and doctrines. We will contribute cheerfully to the expenses of the church, the needs of our neighbors, and the spread of the gospel around the world.
– Hebrews 10:24-25; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
We will seek the progress of one another’s faith, especially by prayerfully ministering God’s Word to one another. We will engage in intentional relationships of accountability, mentorship, and fellowship, recognizing that God ministers His grace to us through others.
– James 5:16; Colossians 3:16; Titus 2:1-6
We will seek to walk in holiness in all areas of life as an act of worship to Jesus Christ by God’s grace through the power of the Holy Spirit. We will continually submit ourselves to God’s Word, the Holy Spirit of God, and loving accountability of the local church. If we move from this local body, we will, as soon as possible, unite with another local church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
