Doctrinal Statement

The Bible
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Everything we believe, say and do is founded upon and held accountable to the Bible, which is the inerrant Word of God. We believe that God not only inspired every word, but that He has preserved them through the ages. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; I Peter 1:23-25, II Peter 1:19-21)

God
We believe in one God; who is eternal, self-existent, infinite, and immutable. He is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; 1Timothy 2:5; Deuteronomy 6:4, I Timothy 1:17, James 1:17, I John 4:4)

Jesus
Jesus Christ is the God the Son. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things who was born to the virgin Mary, died for our sins, rose from the dead and will one day return to earth for all who have placed their faith in Him. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His perfect life and death on the cross, and that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. (Matthew 1:18; John 3:16; 8:58; 20:28; Colossians 1:16; Romans 3:24-25; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

Humanity
We believe mankind was created uniquely in the very image of God and to have fellowship with him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of retaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts because all have sinned against God. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; 5:12; 6:23)

Gospel & Salvation
Because of our sin against God, we need a Savior and cannot save ourselves. We believe the Gospel message is focused on the person and work of Jesus Christ. It is the good news of His perfect life, death, burial, and resurrection, all in accordance with the Scriptures. Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection is payment in full for the sins of all who place their faith in Jesus alone for eternal life. For believers, the gospel transforms our life and continually shapes us into the image of Jesus Christ until we are glorified in His presence for eternity. (Acts 4:32; Romans 1:16, 8:28-30, 10:9-13; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5-6; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit of God is a person who has personality and all the attributes of the Deity. The Holy Spirit reproves the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The Holy Spirit was also sent to regenerate, sanctify, seal, indwell, and equip for service all those have placed their faith in Jesus Christ and to be our Comforter and Helper. (Genesis 1:2, John 3:5-6; 14:16, Acts 1:5-8; 11:15; Ephesians 1:12-14)

The Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving him and by making him known to the lost world. We believe the local church is composed of members who have been saved and baptized according to the command of Christ and have voluntarily united together for the purposes of worship, fellowship, service, and observance of the ordinances of baptism and communion. (Matthew 16:16-18, Acts 1:5-8; 2:41-43; 11:15; 20:28, Ephesians 5:25-30, I Timothy 3:15)

Eternity
We believe that Jesus Christ will return for His Bride (all believers) and will rule and reign forever as King. Those who have received Christ as Savior will experience eternal life in the presence of God Himself, but those who have rejected Christ will perish. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; John 3:16; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:14-15)

Sexuality and Marriage
We believe that there are only two God-given genders, male and female. We believe that the only Scriptural marriage is the joining of one man and one woman, and that God has commanded that no intimate, sexual activity be engaged in outside of the marriage covenant. (Genesis 2:24; Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:26-29; 1 Corinthians 6:9-20; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4)
