November 2018!

November Greetings!

Well it certainly has been an interesting year weather-wise, but as you can see from the pictures, the Lord blessed us with a beautiful day for our Fall Fest. We enjoyed the teaching and preaching of God’s Word on the subject of “Seasons”, great fellowship and food, two wagons of hayriders, visitors, and a fun game for the kiddos.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time

I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him; Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11, 14.

Do you sometimes get weary of hearing bad news? As we think especially of giving thanks this month, we thank the Lord for the Good News that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ! And there is much good news to thank the Lord for and continue in prayer about. Please join us…

  • Several specific opportunities to give the gospel one-on-one. I will not share the names, but I often pray from Acts 16:14, …whose heart the Lord opened… Let’s pray for the salvation of souls, the assurance of salvation for those who are truly born again, and revival—the abundant life—for all the brothers and sisters in Christ. …I am come that they might have life, and that they might have itmore abundantly; John 10:10. (I have been preaching through the Gospel of John on Sunday mornings.)
  • Not only requests for biblical counsel, but the opportunity to do so and the greatest blessing as folks have responded positively to the counsel.
  • One of our youth asking me for more gospel tracts. Another asking for help (devotional materials) to continue in God’s Word. And then another joining us to attend a revival meeting at another church this week.
  • Some folks who believe that the Lord is leading them to become members of SVBC.
  • The Homeschool Helpers began meeting this week with 6 families receiving some instruction in Bible, art, and music.
  • Richard & Rhonda Harris are in Israel with one of our missionaries—Roger Wambold of Hebrew Christian Fellowship who will be with us all day at SVBC on Sunday, November 25.
  • Tuesday, 6 is Election Day! We have Voter Guides to help you. Let’s keep praying, & plan to vote!
  • This Wednesday, 10/31 is the Fall Party for our Masterclubbers, meeting from 4:00-6:00 for a hotdog roast, Bible lesson, and flashlight candy hunt. We are thankful for 22 children attending weekly, several youth helpers, and faithful adult workers. Our Master Club Parent Night—Stone Soup Fellowship Meal & Love Offering is Sunday 11/18.
  • Praise Service—Weds., 11/21 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Physical needs: Sonja Hughes (continuing therapy); Dave & Joan Hannum (neck surgery); Ruth Landon (broken neck); Maryann Poage (surgery 11/26); Chad Riley (slow but ongoing recovery); Pastor & Mrs. Peet (since this letter will be on the internet, if you want to encourage the Peets or anyone with a card or visit, please contact me for their address).
  • Recently Wanda and I got to visit our son Tom and family in SD. I think the picture shows one happy Grandma! And we are looking forward to meeting two more grandchildren. Tom & Cheyanne and Nathan & Martha are both expecting. God is always good!

Thank you for praying with us and for us!

We pray for you too.

In Christ’s Love,

Tom & Wanda MacAvoy
