March Greetings!

March Greetings!

Please thank the Lord and pray with us…

  • Youth iceskating activity was a blessing and good opportunity to build relationships (see pictures)
  • MEN standing in the gap; we enjoyed our 1st men’s retreat and some more good times studying God’s Word and seeking to grow in effectual, fervent prayer.
  • Missionaries Garth & Margaret Roberts; Margaret has come through cancer radiation treatments and Garth is in therapy with his left knee replacement.
  • Missionaries Tim & Sarah Valiante and Family have reached 100% financial support and are headed for their 1st term in the Philippines in May, Lord willing!
  • Richard Harris is scheduled for back surgery on Monday at the Laser Spine Institute in Tampa, FL.
  • Cy Hughes is home from the hospital.
  • 3-on-3 Basketball Outreach at SVBC is March 23. We have already received several online registrations. Pastor James Bixler will be giving the Gospel.
  • “Sunday’s Coming!” is the name of a 40 day devotional that we will begin on Wednesday, March 6. For six weeks this will be a church-wide opportunity to look at the miracles and parables of Jesus during His last week here on earth. Other topics are: Who is Jesus (His great “I am” titles), prophecies concerning His death and resurrection, and a look at the events of Passion Week. We’ll discuss our findings every Wednesday at Prayer Meeting.

On a personal note, we thank the Lord for the opportunity to travel to SC to meet our newest granddaughter Katie Rose MacAvoy, born January 15. On the way, we had the opportunity to spend a day at the Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. If you ever have the opportunity, I heartily recommend that you visit this museum. https://www.museumofthebible.org/ We also had the opportunity to attend part of a Bible Conference with the theme “Let’s Pray!” It was a great blessing, encouragement, and challenge. In fact, last night at our prayer meeting, I passed out some new prayer bulletins and we talked about 2 things:

  • Let’s seek to have the glory of God as the motive for each of our requests.
  • Let’s seek to not only pray about physical and temporal things, but also for the spiritual and eternal. Example—Eph 3:16, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man

Last night at our MasterClubs was “Glow Night.” Somebody was sure “ready to glow.”

I’m not sure who enjoys these clubs more—the kids or the workers! May the joy of our Lord be your strength.

Thank you for praying with us and for us!

We pray with and for you too.

In Christ’s Love,

Tom & Wanda MacAvoy
